Turmeric powder is extracted from the roots of the Curcuma Longa plant. Turmeric contains curcumin. Black pepper is added to the curcumin. 

Curcumin has several effects:

PharmaDog Turmeric is 100% free of added sugars. Sugars are not always listed as sugar. Common sugars and sweeteners in supplements are apple aroma, dextrose, sucrose and grape sugar.
