PharmaDog ear drops with colloidal silver

A dog's ears perform a crucial function in the life of your faithful four-legged friend. Dog ears are much more sensitive than human ears and play an important role in their hearing, balance and communication.

How do you recognise if your dog has earache?

As a dog lover, you naturally want your dog to feel comfortable at all times. Recognising ear pain in your dog can be tricky, but there are several signs that can indicate discomfort in the ears.

Signs of earache in dogs

    1. Scratching the ears: If your dog frequently scratches one or both ears, this could be a sign that something is wrong.
    2. Shaking the head: Repeated shaking of the head may indicate irritation or discomfort in the ears.
    3. Redness or swelling: The inside of the ear may be red or swollen, indicating possible irritation.
    4. Ear discharge: Watch for discharge from the ear, especially if it is unusual in colour or smells unpleasant.
    5. Smell: A foul odour coming from the ears may indicate that something is wrong.
    6. Pain on touch: If your dog shows pain or pulls back when you touch his ears, this could be an important signal.
    7. Rubbing against objects: Dogs sometimes rub their ears against furniture or the floor to seek relief.
    8. Loss of balance: Problems with the ears can sometimes affect your dog's balance.
    9. Behavioural changes: Your dog may be less energetic, cranky or less playful than usual.

It is important to be alert to these signs and intervene in time. By paying close attention to your dog and acting quickly at signs of earache, you can help reduce discomfort and improve your dog's well-being.
